What to expect from a StrongHer class

StrongHer classes are unique in many ways. Small group training, class concepts designed around lifting heavy sh*t, bespoke playlists and the absolute best coaches, to name a few. And while we’re very proud of all that (and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback - yay!), we do know that our classes are different, and that different sometimes could mean intimidating. On the other hand, our mission is all about making fitness less intimidating - one way to do this is through setting clear expectations. So you lovely lot asked ‘what can I expect from a StrongHer class’, and we answer:

Before

Put on your fave gym fit. Not the super right scrunch-bum viral leggings you saw on Tik Tik. But the gym fit that makes YOU comfortable & confident. If you’re about to join a Force or a Mission class, we’d recommend a high-impact bra - because the girls deserve the best support while you’re busy jumping, running or rowing. In terms of trainers, our best advice is the usual - don’t overthink it and put on your comfiest pair. But if you feel like you want to invest high end trainers, you could go for Tig’s favorites - UnderArmour TriBase, or Sam’s - Nike Metcon. If you’re coming to Reflow - consider this your opportunity to show off your cutest socks!

In terms of what to eat, we’d recommend having something small and carby (as you’ll definitely need all that energy!). Think granola, chocolate, a PBJ bagel, etc. Please don’t skip any meals before class, and don’t come in hungry - you won’t be able to perform at your best!

The class

StrongHer class concepts cover everything from running through lifting to yoga, and while these are very different in nature, the gist of it is always the same! So let’s break it down:

First things first, make sure to arrive at least 10 min earlier! When you walk into the studio you’ll be welcomed by our lovely Front of House team who will show you around and answer any questions you might have. Then, you’ll head to the changing rooms where you’ll be able to change into that comfy gym fit you picked earlier and drop off your stuff in one of the lockers. Once done, head out to the waiting room area around reception. Think of this time as a little social warm up where you get to meet other members, socialize, grab a bottle of water or order a protein shake! If you’re brand new to StrongHer, your coach for the class will chat to you 121 before the clsss starts so you know what to expect in the session. Then, your coach will come and ask you to step into StrongHer and become strongher!

The coach will begin the class by asking about any injuries. If you do have any, even if you think it’s something insignificant, raise your hand and let your coach know! They’ll make sure to modify any movements for you accordingly if need be. Then the coach will give you a rundown of what you’ll be doing and you’ll start with the warm-up. The similarities between classes in terms of structure more or less end here, but everything else remains the same - the vibes, the music, amazing teammates and an energy-packed studio! This is where the StrongHer magic happens - and it's a ‘show-don’t-tell’ type of thing!
